HCC is filled with people that give of their time and talents.

HCC hosted Dr. Robert Carter from Creation Ministries International. His presentation offered encouragement and evidence that shows the Bible’s account of Creation is true.

HCC members attended the annual CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) Banquet in North Branch. This two hour event featured a wonderful meal and a program with speaker, Jon Frazier (HCC’s missionary to Dearborn).

HCC joined other believers from Lapeer County for the annual NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER. This hour long event was uplifting and encouraging. It featured pastors, dignitaries, and others offering thoughts and prayers for our nation, community, and the church.

Several members and friends of HCC attended the Garden Party at WOJO’s. This group was able to tour the areas “behind the scenes” at the Ortonville location of this popular nursery and garden center.

HCC is excited to welcome Melissa Crawford as speaker at its annual LADIES LUNCH. This fun event will happen on Saturday, May 17 at 2 PM. A lunch will be served and Melissa will share a message based on Isaiah 40:31. RSVP to Danielle Coleman at 810-797-4540.

Easter Breakfast was a time of good food and fellowship. It also featured a program entitled, “I WAS THERE”. This short skit featured Linda Brauer, Tamra Hartwig, and Chris McIlroy as the women who went to the tomb. Brenda Reamer was the narrator.

The Deacons (Ben Corey, Dave Harrington, and Glenn Walton) along with Robert Hartwig (Trustee Chairman) made pancakes for the Easter breakfast. These means were assisted by many others (Danielle Coleman, Brenda Corey, Sherri Ecker Smith, Barb Hartwig, Karen Tomezak, Cheryl Walton). The breakfast featured the delicious pancakes, a wonderful fruit salad (Julie Vandewarker’s recipe), quiche cups (four scrumptious varieties prepared by Cheryl Walton), and sausage!

HCC hosted a Good Friday service. The event included Scripture reading and songs that retraced Jesus’ steps on His way to the Cross. Pastor Matthew was joined by Abby and Danielle Overmyer. The pastor also presented a short message based on Jesus challenge to “Weep Not For Me… But For Yourselves.”

Maundy Thursday remembers the day when Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper or Communion. This year, Maundy Thursday coincided with HCC’s monthly Ladies Fellowship meeting. Leslie Kirkpatrick shared about her trip to Jerusalem. Sue Kanan and Elyse Lewis provided refreshments. Pastor Matthew led a discussion of the Lord’s Supper, and the ladies present shared in a time of communion.
