
Members of HCC’s youth group volunteered to paint the handicap ramp on the north side of the HCC church building. This job took several hours and a lot of diligence. HCC is thankful for their wonderful work.
Residents of Hadley and Elba Townships were joined by neighbors from surrounding communities to mark the anniversary of the events of 9/11/01. The event begins with the retelling of the story of Stephen Siller. Due to traffic congestion, this first responder ran four miles into the World Trade Center. The local event is a four mile walk between the two fire stations. HCC was represented by several members, including Pastor Matthew Coleman and Chairperson of the Trustees, Robert Hartwig.
HCC hosted a GAME CLUB event on Tuesday, August 20. The evening began with a wonderful potluck dinner. Then, Dave Harrington (an HCC deacon) led the group in playing a new strategy game, Flip 7. After each round, a score is given for each hand with a goal of reaching 200 points. The winners for the evening were Danielle Overmyer and Sheri Ecker-Smith, who score 216 points.
