Game Night – August 20, 2024

HCC hosted a GAME CLUB event on Tuesday, August 20. The evening began with a wonderful potluck dinner. Then, Dave Harrington (an HCC deacon) led the group in playing a new strategy game, Flip 7. After each round, a score is given for each hand with a goal of reaching 200 points. The winners for the evening were Danielle Overmyer and Sheri Ecker-Smith, who score 216 points.

August 2024’s Young at Heart Luncheon

HCC welcomed the community to its monthly Young at Heart Lunch. The delicious meal featured chicken, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, pea salad, and various cakes. The guest speakers were Mickey and Mary Tankersley – chaplains for the Lapeer County Jail with Reach the Forgotten Jail Ministry.

Craft Night at HCC

Several individuals from HCC joined as part of the Arts and Crafts Club. This month’s project was an autumnal wreath. Thanks to all that attended. The next Craft Club meeting will be on November 19 and will feature a Christmas decoration.

HCC Cornhole Tournament 2024

The annual Cornhole Tournament was filled with suspense. Many teams registered for the competition. After several rounds – the final two teams were ready. Bob Green and Elyse Lewis along with Tamra and Robert Hartwig were in the championship round. Following the singing of the National Anthem, led by Sherry Ecker-Smith – the two teams faced off. Ultimately, the Hartwigs were victorious coming back from a 9 point deficit.

Annual Church Picnic

Hadley Community Church’s ANNUAL CHURCH PICNIC was a beautiful day filled with great food and great fellowship. This event offers congregants an opportunity to get to know each other better as we celebrate what God has done in the life of the church.

This event took place AUGUST 11, 2024 at NOON at the home of Robert and Tamra Hartwig (3830 Hadley Road). PLEASE BRING A SIDE DISH, SALAD, or DESSERT. HCC Movie Club

July 29 – the HCC Movie Club met to watch “Disciples in the Moonlight”. This independently produced film presented what life in America might be like if the Holy Bible was made illegal. This two hour movie followed the lives of seven Disciples of Christ who sought to smuggle the Bible to underground churches.
