Lunch at Bavarian Inn

HCC’s February “Second Half Trip” included a lunch at Frankenmuth’s Bavarian Inn Restaurant. The food was great. But the fellowship was even better! (PS – Thanks to Robert Hartwig for getting the church van unstuck!!)

Game Show Night

HCC’s Widows and Widowers Group (Two Have Become One Again) enjoyed a “Game Show Night”. The event included HCC and Bible related editions of Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Family Feud.

Pickleball Tournament

Even though the night was cold and icy – on the evening of January 19 – the Fellowship Hall was busy! Ten teams competed at the HCC’s first Indoor Pickleball Tournament!

FIRST PLACE – Kyle and Kody Walton
SECOND PLACE: Jack and Jason Harrison
THIRD PLACE: Gary Reamer and Pastor Matthew

Valuing Life

HCC recognized “Sanctity of Human Life Sunday”. It is observed each year to affirm the biblical truth that every human life is sacred and created in the image of God. It began in the United States following the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, as churches set aside time to reflect on God’s value for human life from conception to natural death. The purpose of this observance is to call believers to gratitude for God’s gift of life, to encourage compassion and care for the vulnerable, and to reaffirm a commitment to uphold life with love, truth, and grace.

Missionary Visit

Derek and Kayla Pratt (with Camp Nathanael and Scripture Memory Mountain Mission in Emmalena, KY) visited HCC on Sunday – January 4 – to share about the work. HCC has had a long history of partnering with SMMM.

Christmas Eve at HCC

HCC hosted its annual Christmas Eve service. The event featured special music (by Delilah and Desiree Koger with Tamra Hartwig), a poem (read by Kay Tatu), a skit (with Linda Brauer and Pastor Matthew), as well as a devotion that highlighted the theme for the night, “The God Who Stopped Waiting.”
