A dozen people met to discuss the book “The Next Level” by David Gregory. The book is a parable about a young man, Logan, who is hired at Universal Systems. The Director of the company assigns Logan to evaluate the different levels of the company. Logan learns a lot about the employees of this company but even more about himself.
The weather is starting to get cooler. The days are getting shorter. But HCC is still meeting to play Pickleball. On this evening, Dave H and Karen T were the ‘champions’.
On Saturday, September 26 – over 50 people came to HCC to taste the chili and cookie creations of our church members. Nine chilis ranging from Grandma’s Chili to a dessert chili were featured. And cookies like Banana Oatmeal, Chocolate Chip, Pecan Pie cookies and more. The winning chilis – Cheryl Walton (First Place) and Crystal Walton (Second Place). The winning cookies – Deanna Nass (First Place) and Cheryl Walton (Second Place).
HCC’s Good News Club Team met to prepare for the upcoming start of another year of sharing the Good News with the students of our local Murphy Elementary School! The program runs TUESDAYS after school from Mid-October through March!
40 people from HCC attended a viewing of ‘Daniel and the Fiery Furnace’ (36 in Grand Blanc and 4 in Lapeer). The movie was uplifting.
A group of teachers and workers from VBS 2026 met to evaluate HCC’s Emerald Isle VBS. The group is looking forward to July 2027’s VBS!!
HCC hosted Bring Your Grandchildren To Church Day on Grandparents Day! During the service, there was a game, special impromptu music, and a message based on the impact that Lois and Eunice had on Timothy. Following the service, HCC hosted a pizza luncheon – with slices 1 foot long!!!!
HCC hosted the monthly Young at Heart Luncheon. A delicious stuffed cabbage meal was served. The program featured a representative from Operation Christmas Child! She spoke about her experience in South Africa and gave some instructions about making the boxes.
HCC hosted its annual Labor Day Potluck and Outdoor Service. The event featured a delicious potluck dinner and an outdoor service on the front lawn of the church property.
A small group from HCC visited Lapeer to see the WHISTLESTOP TOY TRAIN MUSEUM and to enjoy a treat a BLEND Frozen Yogurt.
